Meet Jim

Jim has dedicated his career to protecting people, strengthening financial accountability, and serving his community.
A lifelong Minnesotan, Jim graduated from the University of St. Thomas and built a professional career focused on financial institutions, money service businesses, fraud prevention, and helping victims of financial crime. Throughout his career, he has worked to identify fraud, improve oversight, and promote responsible financial practices.
Jim has served on the Boards of Directors for both the Washington, D.C., and Twin Cities Chapters of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also served on a United States Senate Oversight and Investigation Committee, where he gained valuable experience examining accountability and government oversight.
Service has always been important to Jim. He has volunteered his time speaking with Bloomington nursing home residents about fraud prevention, identity theft, and cybercrime, helping seniors recognize and avoid increasingly sophisticated scams.
Like many Minnesotans, Jim has watched with concern as recent scandals involving daycare programs and other publicly funded services have exposed weaknesses in financial oversight. Those events reinforced his belief that taxpayers deserve better accountability and greater transparency from state government.
That is why Jim decided to run for the Minnesota House.
Jim believes government should be responsible with taxpayer dollars, focused on delivering essential services effectively, and committed to earning the public's trust. He believes elected officials should be good stewards of public resources, ask difficult questions when necessary, and work to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse before they happen.
As your State Representative, Jim will bring his professional experience in financial oversight, his commitment to ethical leadership, and his dedication to serving the people of District 51B.
Jim is grateful for the opportunity to earn your support and looks forward to listening to the concerns of residents throughout the district and working every day on their behalf.
